The ‘Apostles of Ross’

A busy and joyous weekend took place at St Frances of Rome RC Church, Ross on Wye, with the celebration of both First Holy Communions and Confirmations.                                                                                                                              On Sunday 20^th June, during 9.00am morning Mass, twelve Candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Sacrament was administered by Rt Rev Paul Stoneham OSB, Abbot and Dean of Herefordshire whose sermon, not only reminded the Candidates of the importance of Confirmation in their spiritual lives, but also the significance of the number of candidates this year – the twelve ‘Apostles of Ross’!                                                                                                                The church was full to capacity, with standing room only, as parishioners celebrated together this very special event in the community life of the parish of St Frances. After Mass the entire congregation enjoyed refreshments in the new school hall at St Joseph’s RC Primary School.
